Streaming still dominates, but physical music isn’t disappearing. U.S. recorded-music revenue grew nearly 7% in the first half of 2026, with renewed demand for CDs helping drive the increase alongside the continued vinyl resurgence.

For independent artists, that raises an interesting question:
